Curriculum Philosophy

Creative & Expressive Arts affirms that artistic expression is a language of dignity, memory, and transformation. This course empowers Grade 11–12 learners—especially those navigating displacement or trauma—to explore systems of creativity across media, cultures, and modalities. Through trauma-informed pacing, multilingual scaffolds, and project-based learning, students build fluency in visual, oral, and performative expression while designing artifacts that reflect identity, resistance, and hope.

What’s Distinct About This Course?

  • Strand-Integrated Design:

Aligns with GlobalCore Appendices F (Creative & Expressive Arts), H (Mindful Practice), E (Global Competencies), and I (Global Citizenship & Civics)

  • Accelerated Pacing:

10-unit structure designed for full credit completion within a 10–12 month diploma pathway

  • Multilingual & Inclusive:

  • Portfolio-Based
